SNAP into action with us this Spring!
Food for Others works to alleviate food insecurity in Northern Virginia by serving roughly 3,500 children and roughly 3,000 families per week.
Spring is bringing many new possibilities at Food for Others! We're nearly two months into our new My Market, and we're excited to be able to provide families in need with a more empowering experience.
Additionally, we anticipate this Spring to be a busy time here at FFO. In addition to the increase we're experiencing due to our choice marketplace opening, we're expecting an uptick in demand due to changes in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. Starting March 16th, families are receiving from $90 to $250 less each month. Your donation helps us accommodate the growing need within our community and enables us to continue purchasing food for our programming despite the rising costs of food.
Donations of any size can make a positive difference in the lives of your neighbors!
- $25 buys a gallon of milk for 15 families.
- $50 provides a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs for 20 families.
- $250 buys 5 days of meals for 5 families.
- $500 supplies weekend food packs to 125 schoolchildren.
If you can't donate monetarily, consider donating food, diapers, reusable bags, or can openers.
