Many of our neighbors in Northern Virginia spend the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving worrying about whether they will be able to provide a meal for their family. In the last month, Food for Others has been there to provide food, including holiday meals, to 6,000 families in need. Yesterday alone, we served 300 families from our warehouse. Here is what one woman had to say as she was picking up her Thanksgiving meal: “I’m here to pick up my Thanksgiving food. My daughter has a new baby, he’s just one month old. With the baby, we’re not having anyone over for Thanksgiving – if they want to see us they can Zoom! I’ve been coming to Food for Others on and off for years during emergencies. I really appreciate y’all . . . when I need the help, you’re here.” During an unprecedented year, your support has allowed us to remain open and provide help to people who are struggling. Thank you for making sure that families can share a meal with their loved ones this holiday season. Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving, Annie Turner Executive Director | |
